Abstract

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the picture of the world with its investment, logistics, financial, information flows, as well as capital and labor flows. This reshuffle of forces also affected the foreign exchange market. Due to the current situation, some sectors of the economy have come to the fore, and some have strengthened their leading positions. Over the past year, the exports of all countries have undergone constant transformations, which has affected the exchange rates of national currencies and, consequently, the volatility of the world's reserve currencies. The collapse of the ruble, negative quotes for oil stocks, new indicators of stock indexes, record gold prices – only part of the global consequences for the entire world economy that have entered the horrific chronicle of 2020.
