THE IMPROVEMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR QUALITY OF LIFE TEST BASED ON THE CURRENT STANDARD OF GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES, 1ST SEMESTER OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2017
Abstract
The purposes of this study are to find out the quality of the test; GEH 1101 Life Appreciation course, and to create guidelines for the creation of standardized tests for 16 General Education courses, the Office of General Education and Innovative Electronic Learning, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Samples selected by simple random sampling include 184 students registering for the Appreciation of Life Course, summer course, academic year 2017. 800 items of the test are analyzed to find out the IOC between each test item and the course objectives by 6 experts – faculty members and non-faculty members in terms of the content matters and the evaluation and measurement. The 1st trial of the revised test 1 (Unit 1-4) and the 2nd trial of the revised test 2 (Unit 5-8) are conducted, and the analysis results are analyzed to find out the test quality including item difficulty (p) item discrimination (r)and reliability.
The research findings result in 288 test items with IOC more than 0.5, the accepted value, and the test quality analysis of these test items reveals 122 test items based on the standard criterion. The total value of item difficulty is between 0.27- 0.80, and the item discrimination is between 0.20- 0.79. The reliability of test 1 (Unit 1-4) is at 0.54 in moderate level while the reliability of test 2 (Unit 5-8) is at 0.28 in low level. That is due to the limitation of the two trials in terms of using different sample groups and the sampling of the test items. This results in the inappropriate reliability technique irrelevant to the specified criterion leading to the low level of reliability.
