COMPETENCY-BASED PARENTHOOD: FOREIGN BEST PRACTICES FOR ITS DEVELOPMENT IN THAILAND
Abstract
The paper presents and discloses three characteristics: recognition of the development of competency-based parenthood as an advanced socio-educational practice that does not exist outside the context closest to the family; these practices have a parentecentric character, the specific feature of which is institutionalization; a variety of best practices for the development of competency-based parenthood.
The indicated characteristics are common, express the common goal of the studied best practices in the modern educational space - the development of parental competencies through joint actions of parents and professionals in the context closest to each family. The author’s interpretation of foreign best practices in the development of competency-based parenthood contributes to the concretization of concepts in the sphere of family, parenthood and childhood, which is necessary and important both for expanding the scientific field in the context of comparative pedagogical research and for enriching international professional pedagogical discourse.
